These are a few rules and guidelines to help make our kinship a better place to play. If by any means you feel that these policies are unfair or not appropriate, feel free to let us know why you think so. These policies may change from time to time based on the mutual feelings of the members in the kinship. However, these are posted here to be seen so members cannot state they weren't forewarned about certain things.
1) All members need to be registered on this guild website. We need to be able to easily track who our members are so that we can manage the kinship effectively.
We encourage you to check the website on a regular basis to learn about events and to keep in touch. Post messages in the forums to communicate with your fellow kin members. Even if you can't log into the game, you might be able to access the site from work or elsewhere. Remember if you make a suggestion in the forums, we can see it. If you simply say something in guild chat, only people online at the time get to know about it.
2) No excessive profanity in guild chat or on forums. We want this to be a friendly place where everyone feels welcome. Inappropriate comments made to fellow kin members, such as sexually harassing remarks will not be tolerated and the offending member may be removed from the kinship without warning.
3) We generally expect members to help each other enjoy their playing experience. As such, we frown on selling items to other members. If you are crafting something, it is perfectly fine to ask for the cost of the item. Crafting resources can be expensive, especially for higher level items and helping other members shouldn't be an unnecessary burden. Of course, if you simply want to give something away to a fellow member, that is always appreciated.
If you wish to sell an item, feel free to use the auction hall or trade channel. We aren't restricting you from making money. We just don't want you to use the kinship for that purpose.
4) We want active members. Because of this, we expect characters to be online at lease once every 15 days. This, of course, does not apply if you have a legitimate reason to be absent. It would be very helpful if the leader and members are made aware of the leave of absence beforehand. Because of this, we have a forum specifically for you to post when you need to be away for awhile.
Emergencies do happen and we are aware of that. If in fact a character is removed due to a prolonged absence and you weren't able to inform us in advance, just let us know and we'll be happy to bring you back into the kinship as a member.
5) If you have a problem with a kin member, please try to work it out between yourselves. If that doesn't seem possible or you aren't comfortable doing so, please let the kin leader or another officer know so that we can help you resolve the issue. Remember that it is easy to misinterpret what someone types since you can't see their facial expressions, tone of voice, etc. Often, misunderstandings can be cleared up by simply asking the person if they meant what you think they said.
6) Consider offering to help lower level characters with quests. We don't expect you to spend all of your time doing this. But think back to how frustrating it can be at times trying to find a group to finish some of those group quests. Don't feel you need to power-level everyone through their quests to help them level. But everyone appreciates help on occasion. And if you are playing a lower level character and need help, by all means, ask for it. How can we know you need help if you don't ask? Don't abuse the good will of the people offering to help, either. Remember, this is a game and it should be fun for everyone, not feel like work.
7) HAVE A GOOD TIME!
Remember that this is a game. It is meant to be fun. If there is some way that this kinship can help make things more enjoyable and we aren't doing it, please let us know.
